Fieldwork in Myanmar

I had special opportunity this year by visiting Myanmar for work. You cannot imagine this trip 10 years ago when the whole country still untouchable by outside world. Another thing not only Yangon but also I could visit Tanintharyi Region where Andaman Sea Coastal Line located. 

I have also worked with numbers of talented Myanmar scientists there. We did birding, herps and mammal spotting in the area that maybe almost nobody been there. Every findings would be the first record for this area. As many Myanmar regions still lack of research and have been not surveyed for more than a decade.

For the first time after few days, we visited fisherman’s village and did some birding in the mangrove area. While not many birds except some shorebirds, fish eagles and brahminy kites, I found the mangrove is so beautiful and seems unreal.
