Ecotourism is defined as “responsible travel to natural areas that conserves the environment and improves the well-being of local people.” (TIES, 1990)
Conservation Travel is a part of ecotourism itself although tourist industry and government merely accept this concept as any tourism based in nature. Sociopreneurship based on conservation projects and groups, could be also considered as conservation travel which fund conservation projects and enhance the economics of local villages.

Apabila kalian sebelumnya mengetahui tentang Ekoturisme, bagaimana dengan Conservation Travel? Hingga kini belum ada satu pun definisi mengenai Conservation Travel walaupun telah beberapa kali disebutkan dalam situs ekoturisme dan perjalanan. Conservation Travel sedianya memiliki kaitan erat dengan ekoturisme seperti yang disebutkan dalam situs The International Ecotourism Society (TIES). Saya rasa jikalau kalian berbicara tentang perjalanan berbasis konservasi, hal tersebut tidak hanya berupa melihat pemandangan alam semata tapi juga apa yang dapat kalian berikan untuk masyarakat yang berada pada tujuan destinasi.
Conservation Travel adalah bagian dari ekoturisme walaupun industri pariwisata dan pemerintah cenderung menerima konsep ini hanya sebagai wisata berbasis alam. Forum kewirausahaan berbasis sosial (Sociopreneurship) yang mengacu pada proyek dan kelompok konservasi, dapat juga dianggap sebagai conservation travel yang menyediakan dana untuk proyek konservasi dan meningkatkan taraf ekonomi masyarakat lokal.
