China: XTBG People


This post is about my new friends and collegues from China trip. Eventhough I have full range photos collection on Facebook, I just want to show it again here (the one that impressed me as amateur photographer LOL. I think I made lots of photos of Noah here. He’s just so cool! :D).  I met lots of bright students across US, Asia, or even Africa for sure. Haven’t count it how much but so far US, Philippines, Indonesia, Srilanka, Taiwan, China, Canada, Africa (forget which part … sorry :|).  I need to tell you stories more about Tropical Asian Forestry course in XTBG (Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden) but for now you can check this link because they just open full scholarship for next course in Spring 2014 (Deadline 15th November 2013!!).Continue reading “China: XTBG People”


China: Yunnan and Food | Yunnan dan Makanan


What I remember from Yunnan, China is their marvelous fruit and meals. So many barbecue place for a vegetarian even more for an omnivore. Honestly I am trying to be more healtier in China because most of the meals so oily and salty. But oh well it is a part of culture experience. Everything in Yunnan most likely to be combination of Lao, Thai, Chinese, and Vietnamese cuisine (because adjacent location each another). China: Kunming, The Old and New | Kunming, Lama dan Baru

DSCF7512This post I dedicate for my buddies, Indri Juwono, who’s an architect and also traveler. Kunming as many growing city across China is full with unity of old and new buildings. As the largest city in Southern China, Kunming is really impressive and beautiful. The worst part of this city is probably only the taxi. It would be difficult to get taxi eventhough you’ve waited for hours.

China: Macro from Xishuangbanna | Makro dari Xishuangbanna


As a part of Yunnan, China trip I took macro photography lesson with Pierre Honoré. I think my point-and-shoot techniques getting better now with my Fujifilm X10 (Thanks to Pierre!). It is a vintage style camera and really nice for documentation and macro (it has super macro!) although bad for telephoto. At first I want change into DSLR but I still like its compactness and practical for traveling.
