Happy New Year! Lately it becomes so difficult for me to write down my blogpost. I feel writing on paper seems more effective and flowing instead jotting down my thought on computer. The 2017 is a year of personal growth in term of career and education. It is also a struggle and challenging year for love but a great one for friendship.
1. MSc degree
For me it is liberating and refreshing although I still hope can do PhD later. This is my second Master’s degree and probably the one that I really like because of the UK Government Chevening scholarship and finally I can study with passion and focus that I really want since years ago.
2. Conservation Events
I attended several interesting conservation related events from Student Conference for Conservation Student (SCCS), Luc Hoffmann Institute Decision-Support Tools in Conservation in Cambridge, Conservation Optimism in London, IPBES capacity building training in Bilbao and RT RSPO 15 in Bali.
3. Asia, Europe and the UK
It is indeed a busy year with such limited time and money left. However, I can fulfill my dreams to see with my own eyes many incredible places in the world for work and study purposes or meeting my friends which is the reason why I really like travelling. I went to Taiwan for a second time after 2 years to meet my Canadian brother, Trevor. Mom and I also went to Singapore for a family weekend! It was awesome and we had a lot of fun together!
4. New Friends
What I like most with moving to other country or travelling is I can rekindle old friendship and make new friendship. I also believe some of them are friends forever although we are in the distance and have different backgrounds.
5. Books
38 read books so far and I am now reading only on kindle – the best investment I ever made! You can check my the best books I read in 2017 here.
6. Back to work
Recently I am back to my previous job in Indonesia. Of course so many things changes, the excitement, the frustration, the awesomeness, the stagnation, and life goes on and we must keep forward. Check what I am doing right now for any updates here and my projects here.
7. Joining gym
So I am joining gym club after back to Indonesia which is also the best investment I ever made so far. I love running and getting sweaty on a treadmill especially when it is raining outside. One of reason why I join is because I have enough with catcalling every time running around my house and Bogor is surely a rainy city.
