First time in Dharamsala after Agra, I have been amazed by Dalai Lama Monastery which located just on the slope of Himalayan Ice Mountain. I don’t know why took so long to post all pictures from my India trip but hopefully I stop behave like this. India is such beautiful countries and it was so contemplative during the trip especially when I was in Taj Mahal. It is the most beautiful place in the world so far outside Indonesia for me.
I am so confused how to put all these Agra pictures because it’s all beautiful so I made a photo gallery instead. I never know if never been into Varanasi. Around an hour from Varanasi there is small town called Sarnath where Siddhartha Gautama had his first sermon to the world. After a night in Varanasi and visiting The Ganges, we think it would be great idea to visit this historical place. In this very small city, we can see a beautiful remnant of Buddhist temple. Next to this one, there is Architectural Museum where the first Indian gold stamp lion with three heads was placed. However, it is not great time for us and it was closed that time. Instead we visited another interesting garden full with murals of Buddha life.

This is my first post on India and it’s all about Varanasi. My short comments for this city it is very mystical. You will never regret if you go to India even if you tell stories on India after time you will it very mesmerizing. Varanasi is one the holy city especially for Hindu people. You will find life and death here. You will see it enhanced with its quiet Ganges. Reminds me of Barito River in Kalimantan but it just full with decomposed and rotten things. You will amazed how much people bathed and drink its water. How Indian praises Ganges River more than ever. Sometimes you find it still very touristy. Oh well despite everything said by other people, it is always good to see different culture and unique landscape like the Ganges. What I remember from Yunnan, China is their marvelous fruit and meals. So many barbecue place for a vegetarian even more for an omnivore. Honestly I am trying to be more healtier in China because most of the meals so oily and salty. But oh well it is a part of culture experience. Everything in Yunnan most likely to be combination of Lao, Thai, Chinese, and Vietnamese cuisine (because adjacent location each another). This post I dedicate for my buddies, Indri Juwono, who’s an architect and also traveler. Kunming as many growing city across China is full with unity of old and new buildings. As the largest city in Southern China, Kunming is really impressive and beautiful. The worst part of this city is probably only the taxi. It would be difficult to get taxi eventhough you’ve waited for hours.

As a part of Yunnan, China trip I took macro photography lesson with Pierre Honoré. I think my point-and-shoot techniques getting better now with my Fujifilm X10 (Thanks to Pierre!). It is a vintage style camera and really nice for documentation and macro (it has super macro!) although bad for telephoto. At first I want change into DSLR but I still like its compactness and practical for traveling.
