More time for personal development, a win-win solution in pandemic time

Felicia Lasmana (Bearhs ELP 2021), Senior Quality Officer and Project Manager at HCV Network. Currently based in Indonesia.

In March 2021, I am currently back in my hometown so I can take care of my mother in pandemic time. While I have been working remotely for more than three years, there is no big difference in my working habit. But I truly miss is the fact that no more travelling time both work and pleasure. Especially when there was no window opportunity to get a vaccine for people less than 60 years old. Back then and until these days, partial lockdown is applied everywhere within and outside the country.

Saat ini masih terdapat stigma bahwa isu kepemimpinan tidak berlaku untuk yang baru lulus kuliah atau profesional di awal karier. Setiap tahunnya saya juga selalu dihadapkan pada banyak pertanyaan bagaimana menulis esai tentang kepemimpinan untuk aplikasi beasiswa. Perlu diketahui bahwa Leadership adalah topik esai yang paling banyak ditanyakan termasuk networking untuk beasiswa Chevening.

Seharusnya tulisan pendek ini hadir awal Januari lalu. Namun karena beragam jadwal dan kegiatan baru kali ini saya luncurkan. Selepas berangkat ke Inggris September 2016 yang lalu, saya kembali berkaca kembali pengalaman saya bulan ini. Saat ini tahun lalu di bulan Mei 2017 mungkin merupakan masa-masa mendebarkan menuju persiapan thesis untuk program Master’s saya di University of Kent.

Café Rouge in Canterbury

This post is more likely for nostalgia. I do remember walking through this area at High Street in Canterbury and then have Latte or English Breakfast tea while working on my work at Café Rouge. Today I am back to my routines in Bogor, working from 9 to 5, and get back in touch with my family in Bandung for the last 3 weeks. Many people asked how it feels back home. Jersey Trip #1

Minggu lalu saya diberi kesempatan baik untuk mengunjungi sebuah pulau bernama Jersey Island di Selat Channel (biasa disebut British Channel). Kunjungan ke salah satu pulau terbesar di Channel Islands ini adalah untuk menghadiri kuliah lapangan bertopik Integrated Species Conservation and Management di Durrell Conservation Academy. The Leeds Castle

This castle is dubbed as the Loveliest Castle in the world. However, don’t get it wrong as it is NOT located in Leeds. This castle is located at Maidstone of Kent County. I visited this beautiful castle as part of University of Kent’s welcome week event. Besides entering the castle, you could visit the nearest falconry, get lost with your friends at the maze and find your exit through the beautiful underworld grotto. The Slimbridge Trip – Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust

Last month I had an opportunity to visit a conservation area focused on wildfowl & wetlands in Gloucester as part of my module at school. Never thought before wetland areas can be so interesting and used for public education. The Wildfowl and Wetlands (WWT) has a tremendously important role in communicating the importance of wild birds and wetlands as part of ecosystem.
