Beasiswa PBB!

xx

Beberapa bulan belakangan saya sangat berbahagia karena telah mendapatkan beasiswa program PBB baru bernama IPBES (Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services).

After almost 10 years ago, it seems Pangandaran very different than I remembered before. It becomes like a mini Bali. [NOTES]: Moratorium Workshop in Indonesia’s Primary Natural Forest and Peatland

Venue: Grand Sahid Jaya Hotel, 16 May 2013

First of all, All the views expressed on this blog are entirely my own, not those of any other person or organization. OK this workshop was most likely attended by government officials with 60 participants in total including press media, NGO, university, and company. Three days before workshop, The Presidential Instruction No. 6/2013 was issued to extend Indonesia moratorium which suspend any new license issuance and the opening of primary forests and peatlands until 13 May 2015. It was also called as Moratorium II which apparently has many similarities with the first moratorium regulation.

Sang Pelopor: Peranan Dr. SH Kooders dalam Sejarah Perlindungan Alam di Indonesia

By Pandji Yudistira (MoFor)

It’s a history and biography of Dr. SH Kooders, a Bandung-born Dutch botanist who pioneered the establishment of associations of natural conservationist (Nederlandsch Indische Vereeniging tot Natuurbescherming) in Indonesia. This association was founded in Bogor, 22th July 22 1912 and then proposed Natuurmonument Ordonnantie (Act Natural Monument/Nature Reserves) to The Dutch East Indies Governor General that lead to designation of 55 Natuurmonument (Natural Monument) all over Indonesia. Through this book we can read Kooders’ message that an independent association could affect development of conservation and government with initiative and motivation.Continue reading “[Notes]: Book Discussion 4 Conservation Writers”
