Hello again after a while 2013

cheetah

So after been a while not writing in this blog, I start to make it a little more simple. It would be a little bit adventure with photos and bits and bobs. I have been with new job for almost 5 months with so much learning and studying to do. It is great to see how it goes along with my career. Well when I am not in the mood of doing some work a fella came to me and say hello. Some of them is Cheetah! Say hello to Cheetah! He NOT she although seems he’s pregnant! He’s just a very big and furry male cat in the office. O really there is a cat in your office? Well yeah I think so :p

Bogor, The Rainy City

Early September

It’s been two days since I arrive in this city. City where my belated Father was born. City where most of my family from my father side lives. I am not quite surprised when I got an offer to work in Bogor because I know one day I will stay there, I don’t know why.

Although it is quite sunny during the day and mosquitoes come after dark and also dusk, the weather today just fine. Even it is quite good with breeze and rain in the evening. Sometimes it is very warm during the evening but it is okay for me.Continue reading “Bogor, The Rainy City”

Borneo: Earth People

A very good example to see the world is meeting them exactly on its own original place. I am here in Kalimantan with the whole natural destruction. Here I am once again see how human torture mother earth. I also see right people and wrong people in this isolated island. But this land seems never sleep with its beauty although destruction surrounds them. There is nothing I can do about it to stop it but I still can reduce the destruction impact and also help people who get the direct impact and depend on its forest.

Maybe it is a job for most conservationists nowadays. Minimising the forest destruction could be the best way nowadays since we cannot evade the destruction around the world.

People in the city sometimes cannot see the whole thing that destruction is really happen here in the world of Borneo. People in the villages also maybe cannot understand why people in the city take down their forest. Dayak Punan, the local tribes here, who I met before really depend on the forest with hunting and maybe planting rice later on. If some people are blaming others because destroying the forest. Why people also cannot blame people with converting land into houses? There is no more land for man to live except vertical area that is why apartment maybe the best solution ever be.

No more water if no more forest. Even no more rain because no rain drops.

Newbie Diver

Finally after few years my dream to be a diver has fulfilled in Hoga Island. For some of you who doesn’t know about Hoga Island, this island is located in Wakatobi which is the best diving spot in the world. I have been lucky to be there for a week and oh that just a week ago. Time flies so quick and I am now already at home for a few days with some work to do like usual or if not I will try to get busy by myself. Enough about home!Continue reading “Newbie Diver”

Language Barriers

tsobjective.com

I want to learn many languages for sure! I am Indonesian that also fluent in English but want to learn other languages. Learning German, Spanish and French a bit  and maybe some phrases from Russian. However if I have time maybe I will learn more about Mandarin Chinese. As an English speaker I feel I still have an awful pronounciation, phrase picking and grammars. A friend of mine once call me Miss Lang – (uage) because I always correct their English. Continue reading “Language Barriers”

Greetings from Labundo

Look at the pink sky when you reach Labundo Village. This is something that you will not find everyday in the city. This is also something that I will really miss after back again to Bandung.

Different Perspective

Apart of my late Canon A550, I am now using Fujifilm X10. It  took me an ages to find this camera and learn how to use it. I never have a semi-profesional camera before and it is my first experience with buying camera. Although I really want to buy mirrorless camera at first but I just want to buy a simple but really powerful camera for traveling. Fujifilm X10 has it own look with vintage and strenght. But when it comes to photography you have to make your photos personal and also with your own signature. I love taking pictures from wildlife, building, people and etc but still I need more practice and skill to enhance my pictures message.Continue reading “Different Perspective”

TRILOBITES!

Trilobite!: Eyewitness to Evolution

Autobiography of a Yogi

Autobiography of a Yogi

It is about maybe a week after I finished this spectacular book. Spirituality and logics blend in one namely Autobiography of a Yogi. This is about life and adventure one man, Paramhansa Yogananda, to become and finally a Yogi. I have to be honest. I am a big fan of Steve Jobs and after reading his biography I am trying to find this book through internet.

Birding Out

spirit842

I have one resolution on this 2012 to do more birding with my brand new binocular Vanguard 10 x 42. This would be my third binoculars after Pentax 10 x 50 and Nikon action 8 x40. The first one actually belongs to my belated Father and its already with my family since I cannot remember. It is very bulky and heavy but sometimes I am still using it to paparazi-ing my neighbour back home. Second one, I asked my friend to buy it in UK. After the third year and many adventures, this buddy cannot survived in extreme weather in Borneo. My old Nikon action is not water-proof and fog-proof. Later on I found some spots inside my binocular lenses which irritated me very much. It turns out everything I see will be foggy and unclear many times. From that time, I am really keen to get new binoculars especially with water-proof and fog-proof specification.Continue reading “Birding Out”

The Cyber Island

Image

Pramuka Island is located in Thousand Island, north Jakarta and popular known as tourist place and more likely cheap diving spot for the last few years like the other island such as Tidung or Pari Island. It was a bizzare trip for me since I found HSDPA signal and electricity 24/7 in this remote island (for phone signal definitely much better than home). That is the reason why they called it The Cyber Island, Pulau Pramuka (Pulau means Island in Bahasa Indonesia) is also the administrative center for Jakarta’s Thousand Island. Once said internet connection is very important for this area development and the locals depend on it. For me who’s outsiders consider it as part of  effort to popularise this quite small but attractive island. Amazing thing you could also find island is very clean and have their own recycle system.Continue reading “The Cyber Island”
